The cost of enzymes is one of the main challenges for bioethanol and biomass by-products feasibility in large scale. Research about understanding and improvement of enzymes efficiency and productivity are very relevant in this context.

The CTBE workshop “Second Generation Bioethanol: Enzymatic Hydrolysis 2013″ will assist on disseminating this cutting edge research area in Brazil and in the world, and also in strengthening partnerships between the National scientific community and Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM). This is the fourth edition of this event and over two hundred people registered and attended the previous workshops.

This year, the event “Second Generation Bioethanol 2013” will bring the following scientific topics:

1) The first generation: yeasts
2) Filamentous fungi
3) New sources of Bioenergy
4) Enzymes
