Check if your research proposal is compatible to the services and technologies available at CTBE and view recommendations, protocols and specifications for the proposal submission process.
The CTBE has user facilities open to scientific and business community. Academic research proposals must be submitted through CNPEM’s Users Portal. The instructions on the submission process shown next are exclusive applicable to public domain researches, conducted by researchers or research groups of Brazil and abroad. Research proposals coming from the private sector or that involve intellectual property or commercial use have to be sent to CNPEM’s Attendance Services to Users, through email@example.com e-mail.
Before submitting a research proposal, users must visit the Open Facilities webpage to check if its interests are compatible to the services and technologies available at CTBE and to view recommendations, protocols and specifications for the proposal submission process.
Submitting a Proposal
The submission process of Research Proposals at CTBE divides into three steps: User Registration, Scientific Projects Registration and Research Proposal Submission. Each one of those can be made in a different moment.
1. User Registration
It can be made or updated at any moment. This is required in the first access to Users Portal. The user have to insert a valid e-mail account and click “Access”. A password will be sent to the registered e-mail and the user will get access to the Portal. Accessing the system for the first time there will be requested some personal information. Done that, it is necessary the user to logout and login again in the system to give sequence to the proposal submission process.
Attention: The research proponent must have post-doctorate (doctorate) completed. After the user registration, the submission pages will be available only to researchers with post-doctorate (doctorate).
2. Scientific Projects Registration and Research Proposal Submission
Once the register user logs in the Users Portal to submit your Research Proposal, the proponent must click on “Research Proposals and Activity Reports > Submission > Activity Reports and Research Proposals Submission”.
The next step is the Scientific Projects registration. To do so the user must click on “Register Scientific Project” and register the research proposal related to the scientific project in question, clicking on “Register RESEARCH PROPOSAL related to a SCIENTIFIC PROJECT registered”
The Research Proposal must be completed online. This is going to be automatically forwarded to the Attendance Services to Users of the CNPEM. The recommendation is the user to evaluate the viability of the research’s conduction. Once submitted, the proposal proceeds to the evaluation process.
Research Proposal Analysis
The research proposals are analyzed in the following manner:
Technical Viability: The proposal is evaluated by the Installation’s Coordinator and by intern consultant (s). Infeasible proposals or technically inadequate for the available scientific instrumentation, are not accepted and the proponent is notified by e-mail.
Scientific Analyze: After a technical viability evaluation, an intern committee, supported by the Installation’s Coordinators, considers the proposals. This committee is the responsible to define the amount of time and the equipment needed to the research conduction.
The analyzes results are reported by e-mail, so it is highly recommended that you check your e-mail account often.
