A scientific advisory committee monitors CTBE’s science and technology achievements. The committee is composed of eight renowned experts who work in areas related to biomass and biofuels. They come from research institutions and universities, the industry, or are independent consultants. The CTBE Managerial Board is responsible for selecting committee members.
The commitee meets every two years in order to follow on activities from the period. A report is prepared after each meeting, containing an overall assessment and optimization suggestions for assisting decision-making and the management of the center. The CTBE Scientific Committee has already met twice, once in 2013 and again in 2015.
The overall impression from the last report is that CTBE is growing in maturity, and in coming years it is essential for the laboratory to have well-defined goals and objectives, focused on using R,D&I to address major bioethanol chain-related problems, in a very close partnership with the sugar and alcohol sector.
