Research and Outcomes: a institutional publication of CTBE
Research and Outcomes is the most relevant publication about research and institutional activities developed by CTBE. Their content is focused on research institutions, companies (agribusiness, industry, services) governments, funding agencies and partners. Published annually, it brings general information about the Laboratory updates and main outcomes achieved during the cover period.
The first edition of Research and Outcomes was published in 2013. In this number is possible to know the Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory objectivities, its sophisticated R&D infrastructure for scale up of new technologies, research divisions and highlights, professional publications and patents, international events and programs for undergraduate students. The “Research Highlights” section brings research projects that generated significant outcomes in 2013. Among them there are the identification and isolation of several microorganisms producing enzymes and yeast with high biotechnological potential e the initial tests with agricultural machinery prototypes in the Low Impact Mechanization area. It is also explained a validation of a biotechnological process that made the CTBE Pilot Plant to operate for seven consecutive months, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This imitative proved the proper commissioning of the facility.
The report “Research and Outcomes” also shows that 2013 was important for CTBE innovation developed by CTBE professionals. In addition to funding received from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) for several projects in partnership with industry, nine patents were filled at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
In 2014 one of the main objectives of CTBE is expand partnerships with private sector and with renowned research institutes in Brazil and abroad in the biomass and bioenergy areas, in order to unite efforts to solve major scientific and technological challenges.
